Kingsport Axmen announce 2024 promotional schedule

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Kingsport Axmen have announced their promotional schedule for the 2024 Appalachian League season. The calendar is headlined with three fireworks shows taking place June 7, July 3 and July 20.

Opening Day for the Axmen takes place Friday, June 7. Fans will receive a magnet schedule as they enter and will be treated to a fireworks show presented by Ballad Health when they depart. The following day, June 8, the club brings back a fan-favorite in Star Wars Night. Costumed characters will be on site for photos and interaction.

The next Saturday, June 15, the stadium will turn into a magical kingdom with Princess Night. Fans can look forward to meeting their favorite princess at Hunter Wright Stadium. June 22 brings a new theme night to the ballpark with Charlie Brown Night. A t-shirt giveaway will take place Friday, June 28, for the first 500 fans in attendance.

The Axmen will light up the Kingsport sky with an Independence Day themed fireworks show July 3. Fans are encouraged to wear orange and sing “Rocky Top” all night July 6 for the Axmen’s Tennessee themed night. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive an orange Tennessee themed shirt.

Current Detroit Lions tight end and local to the region James Mitchell will make an appearance at the ballpark July 16. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a James Mitchell Bobblehead giveaway.

The final fireworks show of the season will take place July 20, presented by Domtar. The last game of the year will be July 31, which will also be the Axmen’s Fan Appreciation Night.

“We are extremely excited for the 2024 season to get underway,” Kingsport Axmen general manager Caleb Mills said. “We are bringing back some of the most popular theme nights from previous years, as well as adding a few new ones. From giveaways to fireworks, to character appearances and weekly specials, we have a little something for everyone to enjoy.”

First Pitch times for Monday through Saturday games are slated for 7 p.m. Sunday games are set for 5:30 p.m. starts. Fans can look forward to Dollar Tuesdays, All-You-Can-Eat Wednesdays and Thirsty Thursdays presented by Coors Light all season long. Additional promotions will be announced soon.
