DANVILLE, Va. -- The Danville Baseball Club has announced the hiring of Konor Lathrop as its new general manager, overseeing both of the organization’s summer-collegiate baseball teams; the Danville Otterbots and Danville Dairy Daddies. Lathrop is set to start Monday, Oct. 13.
Lathrop, a native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., joins the organization with a strong background in sports. Over the past three seasons, he served with the Joplin Outlaws, most recently as general manager, where he spearheaded initiatives in stadium operations, sponsorship sales and community involvement.
“Konor brings an exceptional mix of leadership, creativity and passion,” said Anderson Rathbun, President of the Danville Baseball Club. “His energy and vision will be invaluable as we continue to build on the incredible foundation established during the first five years of the Otterbots and the first two years of the Dairy Daddies.”
A graduate of Bryant University, Lathrop earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration while also competing as a tight end for the Bulldogs football team.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Danville Baseball Clubs and Knuckleball Entertainment,” Lathrop said. “Danville has a proud culture of success, and I look forward to building on that foundation by focusing on what makes these teams truly special — the fans. We want to create the best baseball and event experience possible, and it starts with being active 365 in our community and ensuring the stadium atmosphere is second to none for our fans.”
Outside of baseball, Lathrop enjoys golfing and spending time with his fiancée, and looks forward to making Danville his new home.
