You know him, you love him, you wish you had his hair – the unforgettable and unmatched on-field emcee from the Otterbots inaugural season, Wyatt Sutton, has joined the front office as coordinator of fun. The Ringgold, Va., native and graduate of Dan River High School will play an instrumental role in elevating in-game entertainment, leading Otterbots community relations initiatives including the Read Around the Bases summer reading program and working with local businesses and organizations on building unforgettable ballpark experiences.

“Wyatt became the face of the franchise shortly after his Opening Night debut as on-field emcee last season, and his dedication to constant improvement was evident to staff and fans alike,” said general manager Austin Scher. “Having him assume a full-time role in the front office as we prepare for the 2022 season will have an immeasurable impact on the Otterbots ‘community champion’ mindset, and I know his work will put more smiles on faces than any of us can count.”

Sutton is no stranger to sports and entertainment, as he fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming a professional wrestler at the age of 15. While Otterbots faithful may be used to Wyatt at the ballpark high-fiving fans, playing games on the field and kicking it with Scotter, on the weekends he’s taking care of business inside of the squared circle. As a proud native of the Dan River region, his roots are represented well in his wrestling moniker: “The River City Wrecking Ball” Wyatt Sutton.

Don’t worry – the new title doesn’t mean Sutton will be away from the field this summer. As part of his new role, his duties as on-field emcee will continue.

Otterbots season tickets, flex packs, group outings and corporate partnerships are currently available for the 2022 season. For more information, call 434-554-4487, email austin@danvilleotterbots.com or stop by the ballpark.
