
DANVILLE, Va. – June 5 is approaching fast, and the 2025 Otterbots are ready to embark on what will be a very exciting season. They are looking to repeat their success last year, where they took home the Appalachian League championship.
The squad for this year features a little veteran presence, but the majority are newcomers. Here are the 2025 Danville Otterbots:
PITCHERS
Dylan Blazer: Dylan was a member of the 2024 Kansas State baseball team but did not make an appearance in a game. He attended Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kan., and also played basketball.
Clayton Cooksey: Clayton is both a right-handed pitcher and a first baseman. He is also a Merritt Island, Fla., native.
Michael Daniel: Michael had a big presence in his Auburn High School team, helping them reach the final four of their state playoffs in 2024. He was ranked by Prep Baseball Report as the No. 37 prospect in the state of Alabama.
Tyler Davis: Tyler resides in South Carolina and is a right-handed pitcher. He has appeared in 10 games with his high school, Woodmont High.
Andrew Evans: A 6-foot-6 junior, Andrew previously played for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League. He appeared in eight games and registered 20 strikeouts.
Jai Hewitt: Jai, in addition to being a pitcher, is from Australia. He just graduated high school and looks to continue his success in pitching in America.
Peyton Huff: Peyton posted a 2-1 record with a 4.28 ERA in 15 appearances this past season with the Southern Jaguars. He majors in computer science.
Brandon Jung: Brandon recorded his first collegiate win in 2024 with Coppin State, throwing 1.2 innings. Some personal likes include the New York Giants, New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers. Brandon was a member of the Otterbots in 2023.
Aaron Lewis: Aaron was the Ban Johnson League Pitcher of the Year in 2024 with a 4.69 ERA, 56 strikeouts and 21 walks. He also was on the APSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll.
Landon Lorson: Landon resides in South Williamsport, Pa. He majors in marketing and professional sales at Bloomsburg University.
Maddox McDougall: Maddox is ranked in the Top 500 pitchers in the nation while attending Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel, Fla. He was coached by Marshall McDougall, a former Florida State standout.
Jaden Newton: Jaden was a two-time All-Area selection at pitcher and third base and finished his senior season with a .423 batting average. He is also an honor roll student and is majoring in business management at East Stroudsburg.
Justin Ritz: A resident of Portsmouth, Va., Justin made a team-high 15 appearances in 2024 with one start. In 2025, he put up a 4.11 ERA with Coppin State, going 3-2 in 27 appearances.
Matt Spada: Before attending Boston College, Matt played two seasons at Wesleyan. In 2024, he posted a 1-0 record with two saves and a 1.01 ERA.
Brandon Stephens: Brandon made his collegiate debut for Coppin State against Lehigh, striking out five in 3.0 innings. He resides in Decatur, Ga.
Cale Sudderth: Left-handed pitcher Cale was a two-way star at Lone Grove High School and put up a 15-2 record with a 1.95 ERA. His favorite athlete is Bryce Harper, and visiting Hawaii is on the top of his bucket list.
Paxton Tucker: Paxton can play the outfield and work on the mound. He is from Martinsville, Va., and attended Magnavista High School.
Tom Wilkie: Tom spent two seasons at Drew University before coming to St. Bonaventure, throwing 12.1 innings. He majors in sociology and resides in Hampton Bays, N.Y.
CATCHERS
Charlie Carter: Charlie made 18 starts in the catcher position in 2024 and made his collegiate debut against Arkansas. He provided the key sac bunt in that game. This will be Charlie’s second season with the Otterbots.
Alex Conover: Alex hit .378 with 13 home runs and 56 RBI in his freshman season at Cowley Community College. In high school, he served as a pitcher and went 11-0 with a 0.57 ERA his senior year. Alex is also a returning member from last season for Danville.
Antonio Cordeiro: As a freshman, Antonio secured the title of Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree. He posted a .971 fielding average and caught 12 baserunners trying to steal. Antonio returns for a second go-round with the Otterbots.
INFIELDERS
Zach Altamura: Zach is the second member of the Otterbots from Australia. The middle infielder looks to make his name known across the sea.
Aimon Chandler: Aimon can play it all: first base, outfield, even pitcher. The high school senior is committed to play at Virginia Tech next season.
Jaxon Goldberg: Jaxon used his redshirt option and did not play in the 2024 season. He has a hidden talent: he is really good, if not the best, at blackjack. Jaxon comes back for another season with the Otterbots.
Mason Pangborn: Mason is following his father Mike’s footsteps in playing baseball. He received the APSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll award in 2024.
Anibal Rivera: At Butler Community College, Anibal played two seasons and posted a .296 average. He was also named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Alexander Sifford: Alexander is from Nashville, Tenn., and is rated as the No. 2 third baseman in the state. He graduated from The Ensworth School and majors in finance.
OUTFIELDERS
Micah Dean: Micah did not appear in a game in 2024, but he is committed to play at Kansas State. He plans to major in business at the university. He returns for his second season with the Otterbots.
Christian Hamilton: Christian served as captain of the St. Thomas Aquinas High School team his senior year and was a starter all four years. He resides in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Khaleel Pratt: In 2024, Khaleel was a South Florida Collegiate Summer Baseball League All-Star. Two of his likes are fishing and video games.
Garrett Shull: Garrett was a four-year letterwinner who owned a .430 batting average in high school. In 2024, he was the NWOBCA Player of the Year.
Xander Zumwalt: While attending Summit Christian Academy, Xander played baseball, football and ran cross country. He was a four-time All-District and All-Conference selection in baseball.

The Otterbots begin their season in Greeneville on June 5. Their first home contest is June 9, when they welcome Elizabethton to town.
