  • The first 500 fans through the gate will receive the first bobblehead in Otterbots history: Danville’s mascot Scotter the Otter, presented by Hargrave Military Academy.

  • After a 16-9 win Thursday, and a 16-4 series sweeping victory Friday at Pulaski, the Danville Otterbots lead the Appalachian League with XXX runs through four games this season
  • The Otterbots are among three Appalachian League teams with at-least 10 stolen bases this season, swiping 10 bags in 12 attempts.
  • For the first time in 2023, Danville hit two home runs in a single game Friday at Pulaski. Michael Callan Moss and Santiago Ordonez each hit a three-run homer for their first extra-base hits of the season.

Bluefield Overview

  • The Ridge Runners are led by first-year manager John McLaren. Although McLaren is a new coach to the Appalachian League, he is no stranger to leading a ball club. After coaching for a decade in the Mariners organization, McLaren served as Seattle’s manager for the 2007-08 season. He would later serve as the Washington Nationals interim manager in 2011.
  • With five hits through three games this season, catcher Tommy Harrison (Miami OH) leads the Ridge Runners with a .455 batting average with two RBIs.
