Otterbots stitch Sock Puppets in shutout victory

The Danville Otterbots and the Burlington Sock Puppets played the first matchup of a three-game series at American Legion Post No. 325 Field at Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The Otterbots use nine pitchers to shut out the Sock Puppets to win the ballgame by a score of 5-0.

That's right, the Otterbots used nine different pitchers to shut out the Sock Puppets in the victory. The pitching staff combined for 16 strikeouts and only gave up three walks on the day. Shawn Scott got his sixth win of the season to lead the Otterbots in wins.

The Otterbot offense came to life late in the game after it put up three runs in the sixth inning. Antonio Cordeiro had the big hit of the game in the sixth as he had a two-RBI single that brought home Jackson Tyer and Addison Smith.

The Otterbots will travel to Burlington for Tuesday's contest and then will come home for the final game of the season on Wednesday for Military Appreciation Night and fireworks for the final game of the year. You can watch all the games on Pixellot TV.
