Otterbots walk-off against Ridge Runners

DANVILLE, VA — The Danville Otterbots and the Bluefield Ridge Runners competed in a crazy game at Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The Otterbots scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to win the ballgame by a score of 6-5.

Kaden Martin had the game-winning hit for the Otterbots as he stroked a ball into centerfield to walk it off. Carrington Aaron had the tying hit by a pitch to tie the game. The Otterbots had six runs on eight hits and one error in the ball game. The Ridge Runners had five runs on eight hits and two errors in the contest.

Kolbie Cushing picked up the win in this game. He gave up his first run on the season, but limited the damage to help the Otterbots keep it close. Nicholas Falla had an impressive two innings of work in this game for the Ridge Runners as he struck out six batters.

Jacob Smith led the way for the Otterbots with two runs batted with a sacrifice fly and RBI single. Tanner McCammon also had two hits in the ball game for the Otterbots.

These two teams will finish the two-game series on Friday with the pre-game show scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with the first pitch at 7 p.m. You can watch the game on Pixellot TV or listen to the game at Otterbots.com.
