DANVILLE, N.C. - The Danville Otterbots are amid a six-game homestand and started a two-game series against the Elizabethton River Riders. The River Riders were led tonight by a masterful six-inning performance by Manning West en route to a 6-1 victory over the Otterbots.

West was one of the stars of tonight's contest as he delivered a masterclass performance by going six innings and picking 10 strikeouts on the way to the victory. He only gave up one run on three hits in the ball game.

Catcher Jayden Lobliner was another main contributor for Elizabethton as he went 1-for-4 with a monster 377-foot home run that opened the door for the River Riders scoring in this ball game.

Along with Lobliner, left fielder Trent Rice contributed two hits and drove in one run in his efforts. Rice also had two walks in the contest and was just a tough out all day for the Otterbots.

For the Otterbots, Addison Smith picked up two hits in the loss, raising his season average to .273. However, besides Smith, the Otterbots could not drive in runs in the game as they left nine total runners on base.

As a team, the Otterbots struck out a total of 12 times as they could not get the offense going in this ball game. Danville could only muster two walks as the River Riders' pitching outmatched the Otterbots.

The series finale of these two teams happens Friday as it is a firework night for the Otterbots. Danville will look to split the series while the River Riders will take a sweep of the series.
