The Pulaski River Turtles and the Bluefield Ridge Runners announced the formation of the Friendly Foes Free Ticket Program, a new initiative aimed at incentivizing attendance from visiting team fans during the 2025 Appalachian League season.
The unique, first-of-its-kind collaboration will afford fans of the River Turtles and Ridge Runners the opportunity to attend away games at Calfee Park and Bowen Field for free. Here’s how the Friendly Foes Free Ticket Program works: River Turtles fans that have retained a ticket to a home game at Calfee Park during the 2025 season can present the ticket stub at the Bowen Field box office and exchange it for a free General Admission ticket to a River Turtles away game at Bowen Field. Similarly, Ridge Runners fans that have retained a ticket to a home game at Bowen Field during the 2025 season can present the ticket stub at the Calfee Park box office and exchange it for a free General Admission ticket to a Ridge Runners away game at Calfee Park.
The used ticket stub must be from the 2025 season and can be from any Appalachian League game played at Calfee Park or Bowen Field. A ticket stub can only be exchanged for a General Admission ticket.
The two teams will face off in a total of eight games during the 2025 season. Bluefield visits Calfee Park for the first series of the season, June 24-25. Pulaski travels to Bluefield on July 8-9 and again on July 26-27 before hosting Bluefield for the final series of the season on July 29-30.
With just one hour of drive time between the two ballparks, both organizations hope the Friendly Foes Free Ticket Program will encourage travel among fan bases and enhance the excitement of one of the oldest rivalries in the Appalachian League.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Bluefield on this initiative,” Pulaski River Turtles general manager JW Martin said. “For fans that have never traveled to Bluefield for a River Turtles game, take advantage of this program and make the trip. Bowen Field is scenic. It’s a great atmosphere, and I know our fans will enjoy their visit.”
“When we were approached with the idea to partner with the Pulaski River Turtles on this idea it was a no-brainer," Ridge Runners general manager Garrett Schilling said. "The history between these two organizations and the proximity geographically to each other just made sense. Calfee Park is an amazing experience that is great for the entire family. I highly encourage Ridge Runner and River Turtles fans to take advantage of this wonderful program.”
