
Baseball is back, and so are USA Baseball alumni! Team USA is doing it all in 2026: diving catches, no-hitters, and walk-off base knocks are all happening at the hands of our alumni. Players who have previously donned the stars and stripes are making impacts at every level, from high school to the pros. WEEK OF MARCH 30
College/Prep
- Georgia Tech is on a seven-game win streak and Drew Burress (2019 15U, 2024 & 2025 CNT) extended his hit streak to five games after a solid three-game stretch this past week. The three-time alum contributed five hits, three RBIs and six runs scored for the Yellow Jackets.
- Derek Curiel (2022 & 2023 18U) kept a hot bat starting in Baton Rouge against Southern University all the way to Knoxville where LSU picked up a series win against Tennessee. Across four games, Curiel batted .500 with three homers, nine RBIs and seven runs scored including a go-ahead grand slam on April 3. Curiel also extended his hit streak to nine games and is now hitting .362 on the year.
- Gavin Grahovac (2017 12U, 2022 18U, 2024 CNT) stayed hot for Texas A&M, collecting seven hits and two home runs in a series win over Vanderbilt. He also scored four runs and leads the No. 19 Aggies with 37 runs scored this season.
- The UCLA Bruins swept Southern California and Roman Martin (2022 18U) collected his 19th multi-hit outing on Saturday as part of his 7-for-16 week. Martin scored six runs for the Bruins and drove in three to land at 34 RBIs on the season.
- Mulivai Levu (2025 CNT) is on a 13-game hit streak that includes seven multi-hit outings in the stretch. The first baseman had a big weekend in UCLA’s series sweep against rival Southern Cal with six hits (four for extra bases), six RBIs, and six runs scored.
- Matthew Matthijs (2019 15U, 2024 CNT) made three appearances out of the bullpen and refused to allow a run across three frames. The senior fanned three batters, walked none, and allowed only three base hits for North Carolina.
- LSU shortstop Steven Milam (2016 12U) exploded for three homers in four games last week. He went 3-for-4 with two bombs in the Tigers’ win over Southern on Tuesday, then homered again in another three-hit performance on Sunday to help LSU clinch its road series at Tennessee.
- Tyree Reed (2018 15U) delivered a pair of critical swings as Jackson State salvaged the series against Grambling on April 3. The California native got Jackson State on the board with a first-inning jack and later notched a two-RBI triple, compiling three RBIs and three runs scored in the win.
- Oregon State ace Dax Whitney (2025 CNT) hit a milestone on April 3 against Lamar, eclipsing the 200 career strikeout mark (currently has 208). He tossed 6.2 innings of shutout ball, struck out 10 batters, and improved to 5-0 on the season.
PRO
- Jo Adell (2019 Pro) had a big night defensively on April 5 when he robbed three home runs in the Angels’ 1-0 win over the Mariners.
- Jamie Arnold (2024 CNT) made his Double-A debut on April 3 for the Midland RockHounds, going five innings and striking out six batters.
- Konnor Griffin (2021 15U, 2023 18U) made his Major League debut on April 3 and immediately made an impact for the Pittsburgh Pirates, hitting an RBI double in his first at-bat, marking the first time a teenager got a hit in his MLB debut since Jurickson Profar in 2012. Griffin also showed off his range on defense just a couple days later, making a diving grab at shortstop to deny the Orioles a base hit.
- Nick Kurtz (2015 12U) also played a big role in the Athletics’ walk-off win over the Astros, going 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored. Kurtz walked three times in the victory to push his OBP for the season to .361.
- The Philadelphia Phillies’ 2021 first-round pick, **Andrew Painter (**2018 15U), made his big league debut against the Washington Nationals on March 31. Painter provided a quality outing for the Phils, tossing 5.1 innings of one-run ball, surrendering only four hits while striking out eight to kick off his professional career.
- Brent Rooker (2019 Pro) hit a pair of home runs on April 5 in the Athletics’ game against the Astros. He hit a go-ahead homer in the seventh, and then proceeded to hit a three-run walk-off homer in the 10th inning.
- 2021 CNT alum Blade Tidwell picked up his first career MLB save on April 3 after being recalled by the San Francisco Giants. He tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, while fanning a pair of batters against the Mets.
- Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn (2014 12U) played hero in St. Louis’s win over the Mets on April 1. Winn came to the plate in the bottom of the 11th inning with the winning run on base and knocked a single to right field for his first career walk-off RBI.
