Appalachian League executives participated in the 29th annual MLK Day of Service in 2024, volunteering in communities across North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Tabbed as a “day on, not a day off” to celebrate the life and legacy of the Civil Rights leader, MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
Appalachian League executives, team staff and players volunteer across a spectrum of initiatives in the towns and communities our teams call home, making a difference in our neighborhoods in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. At the 2024 All-Star Game in Johnson City, Appalachian League All-Stars participated in a successful Play Ball Youth Clinic.
