River Riders announce 2023 roster

Elizabethton River Riders Opening Day Roster

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - The Elizabethton River Riders have named their 32-man roster for the 2023 Appalachian League season. The roster is composed of 17 pitchers and 15 position players, all college students from across the nation.

“Our community is in store for an action-packed summer of baseball,” River Riders manager Jeremy Owens said. “We have some of the youngest and greatest talent at the collegiate level coming to town.”

The infield for the River Riders will consist of Peyton Basler (Kansas City Community College), Brady Day (Kansas State), DJ Dillehay (Brown), Kerry Herndon-Brown (Memphis), Austen Jaslove (Tennessee), Ethan Stitzman (Saint Louis) and Ryan Weingartner (Saint Joseph’s).

Playing the outfield will be Hunter Ensley (Tennessee), CJ Johnston (Auburn), Brendan Jones (Kansas State), Skylar King (West Virginia) and Hayden Moore (Saint Louis).

Pitchers for Elizabethton are Spencer Atkins (Akron), Gabriel Barrett (San Francisco), Will Bolinger (Johnson County Community College), Trevor Callahan (Morehead State), Baker Cox (UNC-Wilmington), Andres De Leon (Rogers State), John Harrick (Johnson County Community College), John Hollister (Presbyterian), Andrew Jergins (Georgetown), Kai Leckszas (Georgetown), Marcello Mastroianni (Georgetown), Kyle Mueller (Presbyterian), Hunter Porter (Morehead State), Turner Swistak (Tennessee), Pablo Torres (Bethune-Cookman), Divine Valle (Jacksonville) and Lenny Washington (Gardner-Webb).

Catching for the River Riders are Carter Jagiela (Saint Joseph’s), Knox Preston (Saint Louis) and Cal Stark (Tennessee).
