
CARY, N.C. – Grambling State’s Cameron Hill put together a career weekend that was highlighted by a 6-for-6 outing with three home runs and nine RBIs on May 16 to be named USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award Week 14 Player of the Week presented by Chinook Seedery and DI Baseball.
Hill helped the Tigers earn a series win over Mississippi Valley to finish fifth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings. In the series opener on May 15, he tallied an RBI single and two-run homer. On May 16 he went 6-for-6 and was a solo homer shy of hitting for the home run cycle, as he drove in nine RBIs and crossed home plate four times. In the rubber game on May 17, he tallied two more hits with a home run and scored two runs to help his team clinch the series.
