GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Greeneville Flyboys catcher Owen ten Oever has been named the first Appalachian League Player of the Week of the 2026 season.

The freshman from Indiana is off to a red-hot start to the 2026 season for the Flyboys. ten Oever played in the first threegames of the season recording a .500 batting average, six runs, three HR, six RBI and an impressive 1.802 OPS. ten Oever checked all the boxes in his first weekend with the Flyboys, hitting homers in each of his first three games of the season at Elizabethton. He is currently leading the league in homeruns and is currently tied for the league lead in runs and hits (seven) so far this season.

The Flyboys under manager Turner Ward currently hold a 2-1 record atop the Appalachian League West after three very lopsided contests with the River Riders. Greeneville will be back in action June 8 on the road against the Danville Otterbots. The Flyboys return home June 11 to face the Pulaski River Turtles in the home opener at Eastman Credit Union Field. Tickets can be purchased at flyboysbaseball.com.
